This is a Vintage ladybird Book titled TALES OF THE LITTLE FARIES it is from around 1920 and it states on the book "THE LADYBIRD SERIES".
Wills & Hepworth were printers in Loughborough. Between the two great wars they occasionally produced children's books. The books were large and thick. They contained only a few full colour pictures but the majority were line drawings. Some went under the title "The Ladybird Series".
This is an A4 sized book. It contains five short stories for children. It also contains a few Nursery rhymes.
There are 62 pages.
The front and back covers are board.
The book is not dated.
There is no mention of an author or illustrator although the initials 'MF' appear on several of the line drawing illustrations.
"The Ladybird Series" is printed at the bottom left of the front cover. Inside on the back pastedown it states "Wills & Hepworth, Printers, Loughborough".
The condition of the book is good.
The boards have a little wear on the corners. the bottom 10cm of the spine is missing.
There are no tears to any of the pages. The book is tightly bound.
There is no writing but many of the illustrations have ben partly coloured very neatly with water colour paints.
