This is a Vintage ladybird Book titled THE SHOEMAKERS TALES it is from around 1920 and it states on the book "THE LADYBIRD SERIES".
Wills & Hepworth were printers in Loughborough. Between the two great wars they occasionally produced children's books. The books were large and thick. They contained only a few full colour pictures but the majority were line drawings. Some went under the title "The Ladybird Series".
This is an A4 sized book. It contains many short stories for children. It also contains a few Nursery rhymes.
There are 30 pages.
The front and back covers are board.
The book is not dated but there is a neat dedication written in ink dated 1920. If this date is correct this would be one of the early Ladybird Books that were produced.
There is no mention of an author or illustrator of the full page black line illustrations.
"The Ladybird Series" is printed at the bottom left of the front cover.
The condition of the book is good.
The boards have a little wear on the edges.
There are no tears to any of the pages.
Other than the small dedication on the front inside cover there is no other writing.
The spine is in a good state with a few chips from the surface.
The binding is firm.
